On Acceleration

We as Humans move faster with time. We started by hunting on foot to moving around in cars and building high-ways to increase our movement speed. It's seems there is a pattern of acceleration. Whats it the purpose? Are we being tested to whether we can survive the acceleration? Self-destruction has always been an issue, and being an advanced civilization is also something we envision, too. Two possibilities. Is our existence a test? And are there more civilizations being tested throughout the universe? And purposely separated to avoid contact and interaction as to avoid interferences in results? Is this the reason for the size of the Universe? And if we are spread out and divided, what accomplishments will the Human race achieve in order to threaten those boundaries?
